@beardalaxy I don't like how far ai is going. It's getting to the point where it's rendering artists obsolete.
Like that other image ai people keep posting: it was able to recreate the Metal Gear artist's work with 1:1 accuracy. It's really sad this is what they're trying to use the tech for. Taking the human out of art. Can't help but think it's on purpose for a bigger agenda.

@RehnSturm256 i think it's actually great for art. i think it sparks inspiration. looking at these images alone, so many stories flow through my head, so many melodies. i definitely know there are a lot of musicians who take inspiration from these AI images, or even the AI song generators.

and, well... the AI needs something to draw from in the first place. if not for the art that people make, the AI wouldn't have anything to drum up. plus, it's not like you can put a prompt into an AI and get exactly what you want, you would have to talk to an artist about it and have them coordinate with your vision. AI is just pulling from everyone else's collective creativity, but it lacks individuality beyond who programmed it.

additionally, with things like upscaling, AI can't create detail that isn't there. an artist is able to interpret what something is and recreate it accurately, but an AI can only guess. stuff like blurry text, i imagine will only be possible if you feed the AI what the text actually says.

AI is just the safer LSD for artists lol. the inspiration it brings is really incredible.

@RehnSturm256 also if it is recreating art with 1:1 accuracy (which i highly doubt, no offense), i wouldn't exactly say that's AI coming up with anything as much as it is the AI just knowing what that thing is exactly and pulling it up. i don't think that's harmful whatsoever. like i said, the art already existed, otherwise the AI wouldn't have been able to recreate it in the first place.
