How can you make a virus then not even have it work with Windows defender have to be really unconfident since it's the first one you should try to bypass
@fugger windows defender is actually pretty good and doesn't suck up all your PC's resources like a lot of the other ones do. the downside to windows defender is that it practically requires an online connection to stay up to date with the database instead of just the program itself updating, so if you're offline you have an easier chance of getting fucked but at that point how did you even get the virus in the first place? you probably have bigger things to worry about.
most hacks and virus things these days don't just come willy nilly, they come from social engineering. no amount of anti-virus will ever really be able to stop that.

@fugger i mean it's not super easy to just make a virus these days, either you have to really get someone to take multiple steps to get infected with it and bypass security shit, or you have to get their credentials somehow with other social engineering tactics (like scam artists) and drop the worm on there that way.
for being something that's just bundled with the OS windows defender is pretty damn solid. at the very least it's better than most of the shit a place who builds PCs for grandmas put on it. my grandparents had 3 different antiviruses installed on their computers, two of which i had never heard of and had to use revo to get rid of.
