@dielan such a good fucking game. I bought my ps4 specifically to play it because I didn't have a PC back then.
It still works on ps4/ps5 because it's p2p there, no server required. I wish they had brought that over to pc before they axed it.
There are guys working on getting custom servers working. I can shoot you the discord if you want. It kind of works right now but it still depends on a couple people running small servers instead of a big central one and your stats/settings don't save. They're actively working on stuff though, they recently made a lot of progress with loadouts.
@dielan yeah it would probably be pretty messy. Might have some luck running with Proton though, the game itself is from like 2012 so performance shouldn't be much of an issue.
@dielan apparently there is actually a native Linux build for the launcher. The game you have to download through steam, but I'm not quite sure how it works booting in Linux. If there is a native launcher, I'm assuming it works well enough to warrant having the launcher in the first place.
Apparently the only thing that doesn't work is the local loadout manager, because it uses cheat engine and it can't penetrate through all of the compatibility layers. You can still send your loadout to a discord bot though, it's just weird.
