Kind of weird that all the sexual philias are called philias in the first place. Completely incorrect meaning. Probably some scientists that don't know language arts very well. They got it right with homoerotic and then just dropped the ball after that.
@beardalaxy in Greek homosexual is actually homo-phylo-phile, one who likes the same sex. Asty-phylia for example means love for cities. So paedo-philia is love of children. On the opposite end, homo-phobia is fear of homos (homo- meaning the same). It probably should be homo-phylo-phobia but English too lazy doh. After that, the words begin to seem reversed. Transphobia and homophobia imply you hate what you fear. It's an interesting linguistic issue indeed
