@BlinkRape what's bad about discord other than the people running it?
@beardalaxy @BlinkRape browser app, logs everything, harvests a rather sizeable clickstream, banned third party client enjoyers (probably for not giving them a clickstream to mine and sell)
@beardalaxy @BlinkRape i think i've heard its also partly funded by china to capture chat data about the west but i don't think i trust the source

@icedquinn @BlinkRape but most of that comes down to the people running it. i'm just talking about the app itself. the only real "problem" with it is that it is a web app but as long as it works and it does what it is supposed to 
@beardalaxy @BlinkRape personally i'd rather have topic streams like zulip does. but nobody wants to implement that feature
