iPhone going to switch to wireless only charging
Slower charging most likely
Have to awkwardly hold the wireless charger if you want to use it while charging
Data transfer rates will be slow as balls or though Bluetooth or something idk
Every fucking Android phone will copy it
All of this so they don't have to use USB-C
i dunno why induction chargers have been held back so long though they are kinda nice in theory
@icedquinn@blob.cat They didn't say anything about USB-C all they said is they will "comply" still that could still mean removing the port all together, also they have until 2024
@fuggy @icedquinn i was thinking they would do 1 of 2 things:
#1 just ship the EU phones with a thunderbolt > USB-C dongle
#2 make it wireless charging but release some sort of phone case (or some other attachment) that can charge the phone that still needs to be recharged with thunderbolt
