straight facts
@WolfJay bruh this meme is from 2018 😂
are game consoles not allowed to have sequels from the previous console? or ports? or cross gen releases? the ps5 has all of those things.
nearly every playstation exclusive game that exists on ps5 is either a remaster/port or a sequel.
but since 2018 the switch's exclusives have been stuff like astral chain, an expansion to mario 3d world, a shit load of mario kart 8 tracks and more coming, animal crossing, two fire emblems, link's awakening remake, luigi's mansion 3, two mario party games, METROID DREAD, mario strikers/tennis, bayonetta 3, kirby forgotten land (which was amazing), cadence of hyrule and there is another full zelda game coming soon too.
on this list, you have one cross gen release, five enhanced ports, four sequels, and two new games. the amount of exclusive games for the console weighs out the ports, so this meme fails even by its own merit.
right now, with a longer PS5 lifespan than the switch did at this time, you have a pretty similar story. uncharted 4 and last of us 2 are both ports (neither of which are getting any content updates like most of the switch ports have). god of war is a cross release. ratchet and clank is a sequel to a remake. there are only five exclusive games to the ps5 itself, compared to the switch's six in this meme alone (there were other ones like 1-2 switch, snipperclips, arms, xenoblade chronicles 2, and others).
also this is a bit of a strawman, nobody thought the wii u games were bad, it's just that everyone thought that the console itself was lame and you didn't need that second screen (as evidenced by them being ported to switch). they released a lot of the same games because the wii u didn't sell well so it was a bit hard to get your hands on these games, so it gave people the opportunity to grab the games and get a little bit of extra content (or a LOT of content if we're talking about mario kart 8).
the ps5 on the other hand, is the next generation to one of the highest selling consoles of all time. ports of ps4 games are theoretically less necessary, because it's the same game you've probably played before but the resolution and frame rate are higher. as opposed to just never being able to play it at all, and then porting it to a new console that's very popular and adding content on top of that.
coming from the perspective of a PC player mainly, the PS5 genuinely doesn't really have anything I want to play and so i haven't felt the need to get one. i got a switch because i like the games on it, namely smash ultimate and the fact i can mod the hell out of it. i could do it on PC now, in 2022, but there are still some concessions to be made so that's why i keep my switch around. i have a ps4 pro, and most stuff is still coming out on ps4 so if i wanted to play it i could definitely still get it there but i'm just not a huge fan.
it's cool if you aren't a huge fan of nintendo, but really dude your console war behavior is pretty ignorant and it makes you look a bit stupid. you're at the point of being a hypocrite and that's not too cool :P
