I was actually a #twitterrefugee initially. Well, more like a Twitter migrant. Joined the fediverse almost 2 years ago. I'm sure a pretty big amount of us here were disenfranchised by mainstream social media somehow. Just don't be a cock and you'll be alright. The culture of fedi is very different, and if you really can't handle that then instead of trying to change it (which won't happen), log off and don't come back. You wouldn't stay in a city that you hate, so why subject yourself to a part of the internet that you don't like either?
