@Halo the difference between the ps1 and ps2 (by extension, n64 and gamecube) is the biggest jump in 3D real time rendering at the consumer level we have ever had. THREE years.

there is a good reason why games from the ps2 generation rarely get full remakes. they get remasters instead because they still hold up, it's just some of the assets that need some polishing for higher resolution displays. interestingly, it seems we get more full remakes of ps3+ than ps2, for what i can only assume the reasoning behind is that the games of that era were going for a much more realistic style that looks worse by today's standards than the more artistic games that had to work within more system constraints.
