@PraxisOfEvil yeah i don't really like how it says "suspected gang members" here. if they're not actually guilty they shouldn't be getting sent to what is likely a max sec (or as max sec as a third world country can be) prison full of literal gang members.
turns out, about 5% of the people arrested because they were suspected to be gang members were totally innocent. i'd be willing to bet there are more innocent people in there too, as the place is a shit hole country so they probably have shit hole law enforcement and judiciaries.
this isn't exactly the right way to go about cleaning the streets because you end up removing actually innocent people's rights in the process (much worse than something like stop and frisk).
@beardalaxy I understand where you're coming from and a more serious process should be taken where they can filter out innocent men and spare them the same fate as the murderers and drug runners. I'd want the same for myself or any White man who was unjustly arrested. El Salvador's leadership is getting desperate, they needed to curb the murder rate and this was the only way they could. It's flawed but as of right now the streets are safe.
