@jetzkrieg She's right though.
Overpopulation is a myth, and the counter argument is stupid and doesn't address the point.
Swathes of land where I live is just held by the government, and sold to a select few contractors.

Don't get me wrong, this is not an argument for immigration, fuck niggers, they have their own lands.
This is a pro large family argument.

@diresock @jetzkrieg overpopulation is a problem not for the reasons of pure physical space, but I think particularly when it comes to a shit ton of people living way too close to each other. A city could be overpopulated easily, but the world is certainly not.

@beardalaxy @jetzkrieg Every liberal vs conservative / traditionalist voting map is a population density map.

The effect population density has on culture is the biggest issue humanity needs to tackle this century in my opinion.

The Japs are doing OK in Tokyo... at least it seems that way compared to other large cities, and as an outsider looking in.
Objectively better than any US or UK city.

Expanding infrastructure further out, internet, and high speed rail, especially, will likely be part of the solution, but who knows.
@beardalaxy @diresock @jetzkrieg Tokyo or New York don't even register.

Lot of Filipino cities interestingly. I guess that's what happens when you combine Catholicism with Asian. But yeah... quite a few European cities on there.
@PonyPanda @beardalaxy @jetzkrieg That's a really good point 🤔
I don't know a thing about the Philippines, but...

Bnei Brak is a city of orthodox Jews, that have famously large families, with the stereotype being 5~8 children per family.

Despite the density, the total population is underwhelming.
I suppose that distinction has to be made.
Bnei Brak is not comparable to New York, not even close.

I wonder what the cutoff is for the second variable.
How big AND dense a city must be before it turns into a liberal hell hole.
@diresock @beardalaxy @jetzkrieg I don't know about that... I think all those cities can be as dense as they are because the people there likely all feel like a big family. And they'd have family (conservative) values.
