@jeff @dworkin It is possible I misunderstand your post, but are you suggesting that banning assault weapons is futile? Because I would disagree with that. Very much.

Christ, from what I’ve seen, weed makes people less likely to kill each other. Unlike alcohol. I offer my entire second marriage as proof. ;)

Maybe that’s why it’s being legalized everywhere now. I smell it all the time on the street now here in NYC and all I can think is “someone is probably happier” not “fucking hell, RUN!” as with gunshots.

All assault rifles should be illegal. Period. Suddenly, no more school shootings. And if we include handguns, which have only one purpose, I would be down for that, too, but even some of my friends insist on them.

It’s just me. Not here to convince you, just here to offer the PoV of someone in a city of 10 million.
