@didymus He's being serious, the idea being that if NATO exists in Europe purely to oppose Russia then what purpose in Europe would it have without Russia?
@GoodBoyUV @didymus That's sort of missing the forest for the trees though. Yes, America plays up Russia and China as threats because they want to justify themselves to their people and to Europe but they are also actually competing with those countries for economic hegemony right now. If the US crushed Russia and China, yeah Europe wouldn't have nearly as much reason to be in a defence alliance with the US, but the US would also be the dominant power in the globe again lol. France is already extremely politically independent (less so with Macron who represents international finance), and they are half of the core of Europe, with Germany.
The optimal scenario is basically what I think is going to happen anyway: America weakens and Europe rises, NATO expends itself fighting Russia, Russia stays competitive with ZOG but contained and unable to expand west past Ukraine, nationalism gains strength and eventually takes over within our various countries.
