@Zealist important to remember that forgiveness does not equate to forgetfulness or passiveness. Forgive your enemies, for they are human, but don't make yourself susceptible to their toxicity.

Too many "Christians" take the whole "love your neighbor" and "forgive everyone" teachings way too far, to the point that it becomes detrimental.

It's also good to remember that we are not perfect, but God is. It's good to try our best, but to not beat ourselves up when we fail. Forgiveness isn't just for other people, but yourself too.
