My "e" key keeps sticking and I keep typing two "e"s when I meant to type only one. :noa_shock:
@sjw I gotta just like, buy a new keyboard at some point.

The same thing happens with most of the vowels now, they're just kinda bouncy. I think it's that I used "e" more than all the other keys and the "e" key is just bouncy now.

@ceo_of_monoeye_dating @sjw get a mechanical one where you can swap out the switches. That way, when your keys break you can easily swap em out. Heck, you can even pull a switch from a key you never use like Ins or something.

@beardalaxy @sjw Oh, maybe I could do that with this one? It is a mechanical, but I just never bought a switch-puller.

That said, I have this problem with more than just one key - the o key also have this probleme, quite a bit.
@ceo_of_monoeye_dating @beardalaxy @sjw depends on the switches. there are different connector schemes, some are easier to swap than others

@roboneko @ceo_of_monoeye_dating @sjw if depends on the board. Some may be soldered on. The ones that can be swapped, there are two main kinds that have different amounts of pins. I think it's like 3 and 7. However, 3 pin switches will still work in a 7 pin board. 7 pin switches will work in a 3 pin board, you'll just have to cut the remaining pins off.

Just look up your model and see if you can remove the switches without needing to desolder anything, and check to see what switches it is compatible with.

My last board had soldered on switches, so when they began to die there was nothing I could do about it. I bought a new one from Glorious Gaming that has hotswappable switches to future proof myself. It was the best bang for the buck I could find (without resorting to a redragon keyboard ew). Only issue would be if the board itself got damaged somehow, like from a bad spill or being dropped.

@roboneko @beardalaxy @sjw Oh shit, I think I figured it out. I can just use some tweezers.

I think I fixed it. There was some green shit between the switch and the gold bit that it makes contact with.

nigger nigger nigger nigger eeeeeeeeeeeee oh shit e works now.

Gonna fix o
@roboneko @beardalaxy @sjw OK, I think that's better now. I guess I have to buy some q-tips and clean out the contacts between the switches - my keyboard's filthy enough that it's impacting the contacts between the switches.

Fixing e and o is enough that I can get by, but I did see the same gunk between contacts on ' which I almost never use - so I probably just need to clean the lot of them.

^^; Crisis averted, yay.
