Blasted the new Cannibal Corpse album. It was ok. My favorite songs were Summoned for Sacrifice, Fracture and Refracture, and Pestilential Rictus. Many of the lyrics were cheesy even for CC standards but there were some good ones also.
@riserise just out of curiosity, why is it that you like that music? I'm not judging because I'm sure people would ask me the same thing for some stuff I listen to, just curious.
@beardalaxy I enjoy the technical aspect but I also like dark subject matters. Lyrics are often just as important to me as the music and it doesn't always have to be metaphorical. Sometimes it can be about bronze age migraine remedies, or a little story about a guy who can't stop killing and wishes to be stopped. And sometimes Tom Araya writes about the dehumanization of unborn children as their mother gets figuratively fucked by death. I don't know it just makes me feel something. Also it's not like I only listen to extreme metal. There's definitely a time and place for Marky Mark or socially unacceptable Japanese denpa songs.
