After playing a racing game that lets you turn off rubberbanding AI, playing one without that option is ass. I hate, HATE, being in first place and seeing 4 cars just speed past me for no reason. Why tf do games still have this shit when everyone hates it??

@beardalaxy the devs just like to be assholes I guess but "muh realism" only counts when it's about nerfing boobies
Developers exist solely to nerf the best part of the game

@Matty @GrungeQueef I know the reason for it is to make the races more challenging/engaging but it's just stupid, if I'm going faster in a better car and following a better line then the game is already engaging enough because if I screw up it's all over.

Did you pick a Negress car? No? You deserve to lose. Could also be that they didn't care enough to AI cars and just spawn/boost them in.
@beardalaxy

OG XCOM had a great AI. The aliens had to search the map just like the player and make decisions that they didn't have all the answers to. They made mistakes but they had a good doctrine for defensive ambush tactics and it gave them a real personality in battle.

That was 1993, but these days AI enemies cannot function without having 100% perfect information about every possible move they could make and they always perform the most statistically perfect actions. It's like playing against a calculator. No fun at all.
@Big_Richard @beardalaxy I keep hoping they'll make AI cards for pc's that are dedicated to running higher-order NPC AI calculations, like the old Phys-X cards did before Nvidia ruined the technology.

It would be a lot more fun if you fought opponents that actually had thoughts beyond basic scripting and would learn and adapt to you, or hold conversations chat-gpt style and generate missions or quests based on their actual needs and wants and interactions.
