mild beard rant

@hawkguy Hearing about the plot and some of the scenes I knew it was going to be a hard watch. Not something I personally wanted to subject myself to.

I've actually heard stories of guys who cannot play The Last of Us anymore because of Sarah's death and what happens to Ellie later in the game is too much for them to handle. That happened to my friend's dad actually, he had to put the game down after the beginning. I'm not to that point, maybe because I'm not actually a father, but I can totally see that being the case for some people.

Last year I had to stop a toddler from running into the road. Her parents weren't watching her and I needed to take a bit of a breather because I was fuming. They didn't even say thanks, they were just like "yeah don't worry we were watching her!" Like hell you were! That kind of stuff really gets to me man. I work retail and I've gotten to the point where I'll yell at parents whose children are just like about to walk out the door into the street. Meanwhile they're at like the back of the store and now it's my job to take care of your kid. Really pisses me off, not because I'm annoyed I have to take care of them but because I'm annoyed that the parents seem like they just don't care.

I swear some parents act like they legitimately do not like their children man, the things society accepts and doesn't accept can get pretty dumb. During covid I had so many parents complaining to me that they had to be with their children all day instead of shipping them off to school, WITH THEIR KIDS STANDING RIGHT THERE? Like, don't you think that does anything to their emotional status? Their trust in your relationship? Let alone just feeling that way in the first place. It's messed up man.
