Hindus believe in some pretty gnarly hells, but they're not permanent. I think one of their shastras says that suicides go to a hell of total darkness for 60,000 years

I mean, if your religion believes that you come back after you die, then logically some people would kill themselves if they don't like they current situation to try and get a better one. If they go to hell for 60k years though it might not be worth it lol.
