Randomly got reminded of something. During my last year at elementary school, it was announced that my school would be shut down at the end of the year.
The whole school tried to start a "Save the school" campaign, but because of the superintendent intervening and keeping any news reporters away, word of the campaign never even showed up on any newspaper or radio station.
The school ended up shutting down.

@Ronnie21093 that reminds me of when the middle school was going to lay off a bunch of the staff and so everyone was staging a walkout, the teachers caught wind of it and at the time of the walkout a bunch of kids in class tried to leave and the teacher stood in front of the door and held up class for a good 15 minutes, totally hysterical, yelling that she would fail anyone who walked out for the entire quarter. That was the history teacher.
Yeah... I learned a few things then lol.
@beardalaxy Honestly, my whole school district was in a sad state. The two high schools in the district office building's town got absolute top tier equipment, computers, and even 4-star chefs as guest teachers. What did the schools in the rest of the district get? Hand-me-downs of hand-me-downs.
