there's something about those old point and click adventure games that really unsettles me. even the nancy drew games. they tend to have these dark atmospheres and i think being forced to a specific viewpoint knowing that something will only happen when you click the button to turn around... it builds the suspense so much even if nothing scary is actually ever going to happen.

i would sometimes watch my dad play myst as a kid and i'm pretty sure myst is just a pure adventure/puzzle game, right? but it always had this super creepy vibe to it for me.
