@moi They played us.

Next time hopefully gamers will understand friend/enemy distinction.

@caekislove

I seldom buy games less than three years old at this point. I didn’t even get a Switch until 2022

@moi

@leyonhjelm @moi @caekislove i got my switch right when they announced they were coming out with a new model that would get rid of the hardware exploit for homebrew use. i knew that someone, some day, would make a mod of smash ultimate to make it better and by golly i was right.

i will probably buy the switch 2 when it comes out and try to keep it offline/not updated for as long as i can, hopefully some hacks come along for it too.

@beardalaxy @leyonhjelm @caekislove im tired of paying Nintendo. I don't want to support them anymore. If i was to Buy a console made by them, it would have to be one pre-owned that is cheap and in good condition but even then, the emulation community is really good, most games i want to play game can be played offline. There's only splatoon and smash that i would want to play in multiplayer but it's just not worth getting a switch 2 for me. If anything, if i really want to play smash or splatoon or any games i can't but want to play, i can use this to motivate myself and make that game in Godot

@moi @leyonhjelm @caekislove my thought process is that if I buy a switch 2 early, I might not have to buy games later :blobcatpirate: emulation community is good but original console is usually better for the gameplay experience when it comes to newer stuff imo. I know you can push higher resolutions and frame rates but the stuttering and glitches aren't worth it for me.

I too hate Nintendo, and have been personally slighted by them in the past. Couldn't play a physical copy of animal crossing for 4 months because my account was hacked and banned and animal crossing had some bullshit online check. Not to mention all the other shit they do. But their games are usually fire, unfortunately... Whereas Sony only has very rare Ws.

Plus I'm still holding my nuts praying for new star fox and F-zero. Thankfully on the F-zero front there are games like Aero GPX and XF Extreme Formula coming soon, but as far as star fox goes it's bone dry and the only games that take inspiration kind of miss the mark with what I'm looking for unfortunately.

Although, like you, I have wanted to make a star fox kind of game with Godot too, if it's possible. I've got way too many other games ideas in my head though and I'm already working on one, so it'll probably be a while before I get to it.

@beardalaxy @moi @leyonhjelm @caekislove you can make anything with Godot, although they tend to shy away from the AAA features like the job schedulers :comfywoozy:

@icedquinn @moi @leyonhjelm @caekislove I know 3d support historically hasn't been fully there, but by the time I get to it it'll probably be where I'd like it lol. Can't imagine a rail shooter would be too crazy.

@beardalaxy @moi @leyonhjelm @caekislove the vulkan renderer is fine for indie productions. people are shipping on godot.
@icedquinn @leyonhjelm @beardalaxy @caekislove i know im probably beating a dead horse at this since pretty much everyone already talked about this but 'road to vostok' completely changed my perspective of what godot can do in 3d. It looks so good, it's insane https://youtu.be/Atb3yFNazmU
@moi @leyonhjelm @beardalaxy @caekislove it doesn't have anything revolutionary, but it can do PBR renders. and that's all most people are doing.
@icedquinn @leyonhjelm @beardalaxy @caekislove oh i just looked up the term. I didn't know what it was (pbr)
@moi @leyonhjelm @beardalaxy @caekislove disney created a new set of shaders yeah. now the whole game industry uses them and calls it PBR.
