apparently, if you install windows on another drive in your system and then delete the first one, it breaks the new one too! good to know, learned the hard way.

@histoire boot loading, i think. bios didn't think it was a boot drive, windows repair tool didn't think it was a boot drive, etc. so i just reinstalled windows on it. no data lost or anything, just time.

@histoire my guess is that the boot loader connects both installs, or uses the original one as the bridge sort of, since it pops up with that "which windows install do you want to boot from" screen.

just teaching me to not take shortcuts in the future i guess xD
