SOMEHOW this was made in RPG Maker. No fucking idea what kind of drugs the creator is smoking but I'd like some of it.
Apparently they had halted the project since the performance was pretty bad. There is some gameplay of it on YouTube and their Twitter and you can tell. However, they have made the switch to MZ which performs a lot better, and I'm thinking the fact it is 64-bit might help a decent amount.
There have been 3D plugins/add-ons for RPG Maker ever since XP, but none to this level. I'm assuming the dev has done a lot of work to the existing 3D plugin for MZ to allow for 3D models, something it can technically do but just not very well yet. I also recall that the animated backgrounds aren't actually 3D but pre-rendered video, probably similar to how they used to do it back on the PS1 and even PS2 to some extent.
