There's lore to Mega Man? I thought you were just a blue robo kid made by Dr. Light to destroy Dr. Wily's evil robot masters so he doesn't take over the world or something. I remember a few of the Mega Man X games had some dialogue in them, but I always just skipped past it so I could play the game.

There was a cartoon show in the 90's that I used to watch where they had the girl named "Roll" who I think was in a couple of the games too... But I honestly don't remember much of what the story was about.

Yeah I couldn't remember if she was in the the NES games or the cartoon show first. I was obsessed with Mega Man when I was a kid lol, I had all those Nintendo and Super Nintendo games. I had a couple of the X ones on PS1 which were really cool too.

I remember renting Mega Man 64 (which I think is the same game as Legends) and not liking it at the time. I just wanted platformer shooter games and it was too different I guess.

@troubledturtle @Curvin @grizzlywhisker @EdBoatConnoisseur @King_Noticer @Remi @SaltWraith If you'd stuck with it in the second game you start to unravel that there are no humans left and a Cthulian entity deep beneath the surface is what caused the events that lead up to the game. This same entity tries to trigger something called the Carbon Reinitialization process through SERA, one of two units in charge of the moon, which would revive humanity (who digitized themselves as a survival effort against the entity and lives in a server mega structure called Elysium on the moon) but completely wipe all nativized 'synthetic' life.
It's a little fucked that a human helps you stop the Carbon Reinitialization Process (She's been fighting SERA for control the whole game) but it would have just given the entity people more easily controlled. Reaverbots are a product of the entities influence. Reploids that go deeper and deeper underground run higher and higher risk of falling under its influence which is what I think happened to the other steward Reploid and main antagonist from the first game.

Megaman 3 was supposed to explore this more but it will never see the light of day.
