Okay I got genuinely mad trying to play Aoi in Virtua Fighter 4. I swear the AI is cheating and reading my inputs grumble grumble. And suddenly they are all super passive when I try to learn reversals.

Fuck this shit. I can stomp them by playing aggressive Aoi and not even try to reversal or evade lol The only issue is bad striking range against enemies with stances like Shun Di or Lei-Fei (Aoi kicks can't reach them even when next to them if in a proper stance).

The bitch-slap is the best move in the whole game lol Puts the big dudes on their place.

@susie I heard Virtua Fighter used to be really tough because of its adaptive AI. Dead or Alive was like that too :blobshock:

@RehnSturm256 Yeah, 4 is very good. I didn't like 5 as much, because it added couple silly characters and in general moved more towards Dead or Alive (and still no VF6 due to it).

DoA snatched some lead programmers from the VF series after 4, which explains how it got better. If only DoA would be a serious fighter and not a bouncy boob simulator with dozen meters and comebacks and fireballs and whatever.

@susie @RehnSturm256 Never played VF but I really like DoA. The titties made me want to play the game in the first place, but I actually really enjoy the combat too. It's the only fighter besides Soul Calibur I actually really get into. Haven't played DoA6 so I don't know how that fares, but DoA5 was awesome.

The major downside to DoA is that they really monetize the fuck out of it with all their character costumes. There are like 5 season passes for 5 if I recall correctly lol.

@beardalaxy @RehnSturm256 I just pirated it when I tried it out lol DoA and the Sims deserve to be pirated by everyone.

I also liked Soul Calibur II the most out of those. After that it started to get silly with the soul edge/reversal edge bullshit. I just want my fighters to be relatively realistic.

I might give DoA another chance someday, but it really feels like a ADHD cousin to VF. So much shit happening all the time versus trying to read the opponent and act accordingly.

@susie @RehnSturm256 i like it when a lot of shit happens lmao xD i can understand why that's not the case for a lot of people though.

i didn't like the reversal edge stuff in soul calibur 6 originally, but once i played through the story and learned more about the mechanics of it the whole thing made a lot more sense to me. it's pretty fun.
