@SNEK I mean, she *is* one of the original 8 Gym Leaders, and GenWunners are a dominant section of the Pokemon fandom, but most of her popularity is probably derived from the anime.
She still easily qualifies for the contest under my rules, the real question is whether Misty should also qualify for something like the anime girl tournament, essentially giving her dual citizenship

@ChristiJunior @SNEK I think only characters who originated from anime should be there.
Most of Maria's popularity isn't from the games either technically lol. That goes for every Touhou character.
I guess it comes time to if it's ever acceptable for a character to be able to compete in multiple tournaments, or if she needs to stick with one - in which case, yeah, Misty belongs on the vidya side, not the anime side.
