Our
#BestVidyaGirlContest semifinals have been decided!
Samus VS Pyra
Zelda VS Misty
The first semifinal match poll will be set up on Wednesday, from my Baest account.
As you can see, the Nintendo domination is now complete, though there are a number of other takeaways: redheads are really punching above their weight, with half of our semifinalists being just the kind of cute fire crotches that the Netflix Jews obsessively try to turn into niggers. Thankfully, Pyra and Misty have both remain untainted by such kikery, explaining their enduring popularity.
It’s also obvious that Fedi heavily favors old-school vidya girls: Samus and Zelda both first appeared way back in 1986, and even Misty is very much a Legal Loli, seeing how Pokemon Red and Green first released in Japan on February 1996. Our lone pseudo-current gen representative is Pyra, from 2017’s Xenoblade 2. Outside of Pyra, we’ve seen that 2B, Ryza and (to a much lesser extent) Ranni are the only other modern vidya waifus to have shown any kind of strength in these contests, so Fedi’s retro preference holds true across the board.
One final note: just like last year, the first half of the bracket saw the top seeds *mostly* taking care of business, with the #1 Seed and the #4 Seed facing off in the semifinals (last year we saw the 1st Seed take on the 5th Seed). The second half of bracket meanwhile once again ended up producing a bunch of huge upsets, and while it’s not quite as extreme as last year (where 23rd Seed Ryza took on 14th Seed Tamamo), we still have a couple of double-digit seeds duking it out in the semis this year as well. That said, I’d argue that the only *truly* surprising semifinalist is Misty, and even more shocking is the fact that the Pokegirl easily pulled off THE standout win of the quarterfinals, as she beat last year’s finalist Tamamo with shocking ease.
Unlike last year, when it was pretty obvious that Ryza stood no chance against Tamamo, I’d say that there’s a case to be made for ALL 4 of these girls not just advancing to the finals, but winning the whole thing. It really does look like it will come down to which fanbase does the best job spreading the poll and mobilizing its voters, as well as which girl suffers the least from anti-voting.
This is gonna be fun
