It was a mistake of me to read the twitter thread on people loving the silent hill 2 remake. They sound like the Demon's souls remake fans who just want pretty graphics rather than enjoy what the original developers intended.

Cause Sony is trying to rewrite the original games out of history, just like any other game studio. Backwards compatability is not their obsession, it's to memory hole what brought their franchises into existence in the first place.

@minespatch i've played about 3 hours now. it's not the greatest game of all time but it's actually surprisingly good. it just bares very little resemblance to silent hill 2. there is a lot of remixed/new content.

it'll obviously never come close to touching the original, though. it's very much its own thing and has completely different vibes.

@beardalaxy My problem is that Sony is gatekeeping the original It's the same as Demon's souls. I'd probably be okay with the Demon's souls remake if it not for Sony's treatment of the original.
