kids these days don't play minecraft the eay we did when i was young.
they don't even have to memorize crafting recipes. it's all om full display, no secret recipes to discover or myths to spread.
we had to train our index finger muscles to fight. the stronger the muscle the higher the attack rate. look at this sad excuse of a combat system they're using.
minecraft used to look like shit. vertex buffers? never heard of that. oh you think it means it ran on old hardware? pray it ran on current hardware back then. ram is for minecraft only and the fans humming is music to my ears.
all kids these days know is kill the whither, download shader packs, eat hot chip and lie.
@lucy The constant adding of features ruined the game.

Killing the Ender Dragon in $CURRENT_VERSION is really easy when you find two villagers, upgrade them and you essentially cheat yourself through the entire game with the best items and the most broken enchant (mending). Wither is the same.
The new mobs are mostly pointless (the Nether creatures walking on lava) or just annoying (the Phantom). Wow let's punish the player for not sleeping and as a reward give them an item that repairs the Elytra, that will surely make their experience better and they surely won't have mending on it.

I still poured 40 hours into one world with friends and will continue to do so, but the base game is boring in singleplayer. All the goals have simply ways to achieve them and skip most of the progress.

Then there's the problem with the modding community, mostly creating complex technical grindfest mods. None of the modpacks I played recently for some time can even compare to the old Technic pack for 1.2.X. It has a lot of content, yet most of the things are simple to craft and do not require 10+ hours of gathering resources.

impressive how they managed to give this impression while only adding like two features a year (zillion dollar company btw)

@menherahair @phnt @lucy whenever I play minecraft I just hollow out massive cobblestone mines and make large castles and bridges to nowhere. It's more of a relaxing game at this point.
