Cis folks, gather round. I have an assignment for you.

Today is Nov 20 and that is a very special day for trans folk. It's called Day of Remembrance. It was started in 1999 as a day to remember the lives of trans people who were murdered in the name of anti-trans bigotry. A list of names is created, and a vigil held. Each year that list seems to get longer and longer. In this small way, we ensure that our deaths do not go unnoticed. The list of names may be found here:
transremembrance.org/domestic-

Now for your assignment.

Tonight, light a candle in the dark. Open this link. Read the names out loud. Say each one. Recognize that this could be the last time someone's name is ever spoken. Extinguish the candle.

That's it. Join with us in our grief, if only for a moment.

@Lana trans people usually do something to get murdered usually lying to dudes or raping children.

have you tried looking in a mirror and asking what did trans people do to deserve it?
