@RustyCrab @Nudhul @PurpCat I recommend The Honest Broker. He talks at lengths at times on the "State Of The Culture" and how music has stagnated. He thinks it's several things:
1. Copyright law becoming so litigious that merely unconsciously copying melodies from a demo sent in to your recording studio is grounds for LAWSUITS UP THE ASS. Leading to labels not accepting demo tapes anymore, the primary way of new artists to get their material out in the past.
2. Money. There flat out isn't as much money being put into finding new styles and artists anymore. And what investments there are being made are being put in to older classics.
3. We have moved into a dopamine culture. Gone are the days of mainstream artists releasing albums. Music degenerated into hit singles, and then later short snippets made for social media. Now how can music evolve in 15 second chunks intended for maximum dopamine hits?
