Wait Trump actually pardoned Ross Ulbricht?

Honestly I think that's pretty based, much better than pardoning all those weird ass maga people and such.

How about he pardons Snowden and Assange next?

@icedquinn@blob.cat @beardalaxy@gameliberty.club I don't care about the j6 people. They should not be pardoned in my opinion, many of them have committed violence.

@SuperDicq @icedquinn iirc the people who stole shit weren't pardoned. trump believes that some of the people who were violent were egged on and he's probably right about at least some of them.

also holy fuck i just realized that this means baked alaska was pardoned

@beardalaxy@gameliberty.club @icedquinn@blob.cat

trump believes that some of the people who were violent were egged on

Trump was the one who egged them on...

And also I do not believe that you can not be held responsible for something because you were egged on. You are a free person with free will and you are responsible for your own actions no matter what someone else is saying to do.

@SuperDicq @icedquinn i disagree that trump egged them on. i think that the people who read it that way are either magatards or have tds to some degree. he straight up was telling people to be peaceful and respect the police there.

some people were violent. some smashed windows and shoved police around. but there were a shit ton of people there and a shit ton of people got arrested just for that. there were people held in prison in pretty bad conditions who did literally nothing wrong. there were even false raids and such on people that were suspected of being there but really weren't.

meanwhile, there are videos of capitol police opening up barricades. they never should have let people get into the capitol in the first place, they failed completely and then bagged people for their incompetence.

@beardalaxy @SuperDicq what he did was arrange a protest because he believed it was rigged. they filed for and received protest permits and installed portable toilets etc.

the FBI/NSA knew well in advance there were tons of people coming. DC knew tons of people were coming. They sent most of the security out of town. (the chief who did this Died Of Natural Causes(tm) the next day so nobody could ask why he did that)

they had extremely detailed dossiers on everyone except for everyone who had absolutely no details whatsoever (and for some reason those people weren't charged with things), then you had agitators like ray epps on multiple videos directly attempting to incite violence and he wasn't even charged with anything for years (and when he was it was basically just to throw the case)

there's footage of police just letting people in the building (which they tried to hide at inquiries), there's footage of protestors *stopping* destruction of the building (which they also tried to hide), a lot of hubub was thrown up to prevent people from getting all the CCTV footage, various people lied (people saying they feared for their life when they weren't even in the building it turns out)

we've all said it before. the most armed country in the world doesn't "attempt to overthrow" democracy with water bottles.

@beardalaxy @SuperDicq tbf i think it would have been better for everyone if they had just charged people with the normal crimes and not tried to astroturf the whole "worse than 9/11" crap and then try to hide all the evidence.

some people did some sanctionable things and they could have just charged them with those things and it would probably stick (but it would't let them try to game 20 years of prison and a narrative out of it) but they tried to use weird charges, politicized the whole thing, and were caught beating prisoners etc.

the same people who would then run the country afterward had, earlier that year, paid to bail out explicitly violent rioters elsewhere in the country.

it was "mostly peaceful when we did it" but "terrorism when you do it," which i think i saw polling showed its basically entirely tribal how both of those riots are interpreted
