@colahpse basically any legislation can be used by politicians to do stupid shit, i don't think that's a good enough argument. if the bill is being written and explicitly talks about what i would like legislated then it's good. if they sneak other bullshit into it, then the bill is bad. it's all theoretical, i'm just saying that people dismissing it as not a big deal and "tons of people do it so why bother" are retarded

The kind of take that entails not giving politicians easy excuses to slide down that slippery slope. Using AI deepfakes to harass and alienate underage girls is reprehensible, but at the same time I don't trust politicians to not use tragedies like that to push for more draconian bullshit.
