hmm, given how animal crossing on the gamecube helped me learn english better as a child, i wonder if doubutsu no mori e+ would do the same for me with japanese? the text is written in hiragana/katakana and there is an option to include kanji.

i won't try it for a while, but it is interesting to think about.

@KaiserKitty animal crossing seems like a good idea for me because you can select your kanji proficiency, so i could start playing it after i learn hiragana and katakana, but before kanji, and then continue playing it as i learn kanji. i also have a lot of knowledge of the game already, so it would be easier to translate and learn new stuff.
