the largest debut for a movie adapted from a video game ever, by the way

@beardalaxy
It will be the worst movie to break a billion
@Beefki @beardalaxy I found this claim plausible, but not a sure thing, so I decided to check. I'd say The Last Jedi, Rise of Skywalker, Captain Marvel and the Michael Bay Transformers movies are all worthy challengers to the title of Worst Billion Dollar-Grossing Movie.
@ChristiJunior @Beefki @beardalaxy Captain marvel had so many suspicious circumstances surrounding it. I think I heard Disney bought full theaters worth of tickets to make it look like it sold well. It's been a while, but I think Overlord DVD was the one who reported on that. Given his track record is around 97% accuracy, I'm willing to take his word on it. Those numbers were absolutely manipulated.
@TrueMasterCole @Beefki @beardalaxy I thought the numbers were plausible, given how Captain Marvel was sandwiched between Infinity War and Endgame and with the MCU having reached peak popularity by this point, but I don't put anything past Disney. I just think the Black Panther is the more plausible candidate for rigged numbers tho, given just how hard everyone shilled that shit - it was like a referendum of Nigger Worship (the actual movie was apparently decent, but nothing amazing).

The Captain Marvels numbers DO however make the way The Marvels flopped all the more hilarious.
@ChristiJunior @Beefki @beardalaxy Black panther was SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIT. Mauler's "unbridled rage" video shreds it. There was definitely a cultural train the movie latched onto given the blm movement was at its peak at the time. When marvel tried to replicate it with wakanda forever though, it didn't exactly work out for them. Between a terrible slew of post endgame movies, the retirement of better known MCU actors, and the death of Chadwick boseman (love or hate him, as an actor, he was the recognizable face for black panther) and lack of any coherent writing, the sequel was obviously going to fail, no matter how much pandering was included in the movie and marketing.
@TrueMasterCole By 2018 they were buying up tickets for Solo. The Quartering caught them showing the film to empty theaters that the online ticketing sites showed as sold out, and he was not the only one who busted them.

I have seen faked sold seats in many shows, and it's far more than mere no-shows would account for. You check to see if it's sold out online, see a half full theater, go to that very show and there are maybe six people in the audience.

This did stop happening with the end of QE... for some reason.
@judgedread Solo is EXTRA fascinating as it was one of the few times Disney has admitted to a movie flopping. Taking a look at the last few years of releases, Disney has spun every metric possible in order to justify a movie doing well on paper. Ant man 3 for example "it's the best phase 5 movie!" when it was the ONLY phase 5 movie at the time.
@TrueMasterCole My theory is that Larry Fink the faggot pedophile in charge of distributing Fed generated money from nothing was attempting, with full cooperation from all movie studios, to astroturf faggotry, trannies and divershitty across the 'White straights are finished' line by main force. In other words he handed them billions to subsidize these horrid films.

The loathsome emasculation of Han Solo by the depraved cunt Phoebe Waller Bridge (who did the same to Indy in Dial of Destiny) was a message they wanted to validate with social proof, so for a few weeks they tried to spin Solo up into a hit with fake ticket sales until they realized it was hopeless.
I saw a couple of Transformers movies in the theater and I couldn't tell you a single detail about either of them.
People don't pay to see a movie because it's good, they go because they hope it's good.
I didn't see the actual movies, I just paid a guy to yell and throw junk at me for three hours.
@CrustyBurgerhead @Beefki @ChristiJunior @beardalaxy
The sad part of the movie is when Bumble Bee had too drive around smelling like budussy for three hours.

@ChristiJunior @Beefki @beardalaxy a phase vtuber said that the Jack Black movie was very enjoyable after she shut her brain off and just watched it. I think the gratuitous diversity would be too much for me to do that, but for most people it might be more enjoyable than any of those movies just from being an unpretentious kids movie.
@apropos @Beefki @beardalaxy Apparently the sheboon is a complete non-character, she's just there to stand around, be ugly and add Diversity points.

@ChristiJunior @Beefki @apropos i actually totally forgot she was in there, the reviews i've heard from some people i watch never even mentioned her lmao

@ChristiJunior @Beefki i liked the first transformers but i watched it only once as a teenager so idk maybe it's not actually that good xD

@beardalaxy @Beefki It didn't get savaged by critics nearly as badly as it sequels, so maybe it was indeed the best of the lot. The only one I watched from start to finish was Revenge of the Fallen, and that was pretty shit.
@ChristiJunior The first Transformers had peak Megan Fox and the novelty of seeing robots that turn into cars rendered photorealistically, so it was OK.

@ChristiJunior @Beefki idk it had hot megan fox and a bunch of big robots going bwaawawawawa and linkin park so pretty much the coolest things to a 13 year old

I don't get it. Didn't Jack Black flare his eyes and purse his lips?
