So
anyone heard of the rape game called no mercy?
@Kagekokoro yeah, heard Steam removed it from the store after being pressured

@SamBox9029 @Kagekokoro i've seen that the dev removed it from steam by choice, not that valve removed it. not really sure what to think.

i suspect it ended up being good business for him, it is just another mostly unremarkable DAZ VN but people are rushing to get it out of curiosity due to the controversy or just to spite the journos and the karens

pulling out of steam and publishing only on itch was also a good move; apparently steam blocked the game on several countries and itch has a better revenue share anyway so there was probably more value on getting out of there to further fuel the controversy before people forget about it (personally i would have waited another day or two tho)

@eldr @Kagekokoro @SamBox9029 yeah on itch you can actually host your game entirely for free if you want. they let you pick the percentage they get. you just miss out on the steam market share if you're not there also. not really much of an issue when you've got so much traffic being pushed your way regardless though.

and yeah it definitely screams "mid daz VN" to me. i've only ever played two of those that i thought were actually worth my time and that's still kind of borderline to say.

@eldr @Kagekokoro @SamBox9029 i am also routinely impressed by itch.io's ability to give even less of a fuck than steam does about the games on there. sweetest monster 2, for instance, was actually denied by valve and is up on itch: ebihime.itch.io/sweetest-monst

@beardalaxy @Kagekokoro @SamBox9029
yeah, and it's not like steam gives that much of a fuck anyway, all in all no mercy is extremely vanilla even for steam, i mean, they have stuff like mad island (good game btw)
