like, either better chips aren't being manufactured which is making sure the current ones stay the same price
OR
only better chips are being manufactured since they are in higher demand and we're always pushing the boundaries of tech, so it's more expensive to build the old ones
i know that chips are getting smaller and more efficient and all of that stuff, so i guess in theory they also use less material and maybe that has an effect on the price of the older chips.
no idea if that's the case but that's just my totally crackpot theory. it's probably mostly due to inflation and all that crap but i do wonder if the actual manufacturing side plays a role in it.
