@coolboymew did you get a switch 2 also? or am i still the only person on fedi who bought one

@beardalaxy I did. Played plenty of Mario Kart World already, so planning to play something else and get some time in Rune Factory before Bananza comes out
@beardalaxy It seems that everything that had some troubles running, dynamic res and unlocked framerates runs better on Switch 2

Actually, a newly released game, where the devs configured it so with a hunch about the Switch 2, has their Switch 1 game run magnificently on it

@coolboymew every time i tell somebody i'm playing the new mario kart even irl they're like "you ACTUALLY bought a SWITCH 2? what's wrong with you?!" :meru_lul: i was beginning to think i was the only one on fedi who actually did get one.

i've been thinking about revisiting fast rmx while waiting for the fast fusion patch to come out. i heard rmx maxes out its dynamic res which is nice. fusion's scaling is just really fucked, artifacts like crazy. they're releasing a patch to make it the same way rmx was, just dynamic res instead of this weird DLSS upscaling from 520p to 4K bullshit.

People just like to dunk on Nintendo for some reason. You learn to ignore it.

@TrueMasterCole @coolboymew well, there are valid reasons to dunk on them. there are also plenty of exaggerations and misinterpretations.

@TrueMasterCole @coolboymew but there is a certain point where everything you own will have some degree of stupid shit behind it, whether it is malicious lawfare, child labor, or weird trannies. sometimes it's fine to just not care if it's not going to affect you. i just wanna play some fun games haha.

@coolboymew @beardalaxy I tried Xenoblade X, 2 and 3, all run way better in notable high-stress areas. X runs better with online enabled than it used to run offline.

@beardalaxy@gameliberty.club @coolboymew@shitposter.world I got one, coming up on the end of tears of the kingdom. i have issues with the game but it runs real well

@rosey @coolboymew yeah, totk is a very flawed game even though it is mechanically very sound and i got tons of hours out of it.

@beardalaxy @rosey I barely played it so I got the pack for the Switch 2 and I'll continue my game there

@ChristiJunior @coolboymew i didn't know you got one either xD but i was *this close* to commenting that if anyone else on fedi did it would probably be you lol

Bought one launch day. Started setting it up last night but stopped. Need to get a micro SD Express before continuing.

@coolboymew @ChristiJunior @TrueMasterCole yeah you don't need to get one at all, i don't have one. i think it suggests to put one inside the console just so it can format it as part of the setup instead of doing it later.

@beardalaxy @ChristiJunior @TrueMasterCole if you transfer it asks you to put your old sd card to transfer pics and such but otherwise it redownloads everything, since it has much more space than a Switch 1, you can just temporarily not have everything ready to play from the get go if you have a shitloads of downloadable games
Oh, ok. I misread it as I needed to insert a express card to transfer my photos. I was going to order a card tonight, so a day or two difference shouldn't matter in the long run.

@TrueMasterCole @ChristiJunior @coolboymew no i think you read it right, that's how it works i'm pretty sure. if it's just the photos you care about though you can just put the sd card into your computer and pull them out manually.

@coolboymew @beardalaxy @TrueMasterCole I also noticed that it won't automatically redo the the storage-hogging updates for all the games you own, just the ones where you've alsp paid for DLC. So Xenoblade 2 and 3 both got their full updates when I moved them to the Switch 2, but something like Danganronpa v3 didn't, and presumably won't until I insert the Danganronpa Decadence cartridge.
So something like Hyrule warriors DE wouldn't update automatically, but smash would?
@TrueMasterCole @beardalaxy @coolboymew I think that's how it works, I just checked, Smash currently takes up 3.6 GB, Hyrule Warriors DE takes up 0 GB, despite me not having played either game on the Switch 2 yet and both being physical copies.
True, but I'd rather have all my games available when I boot it up officially. (and photos)
@TrueMasterCole @beardalaxy @coolboymew I'm guessing you used a nearly maxed-out 256GB memory card on the Switch 1?
I, uh...bought a 512gb for the switch 1 ...😅
I prefer physical though. However, some games I bought before I had a driver's license, this not being able to go to the store myself.
@TrueMasterCole @beardalaxy @coolboymew Based.

I'm holding out for a Big chunker for the Switch 2, I currently still have 102 GB worth of storage left, so I can afford to wait for a memory card that will enable me to survive even a physical copy Holocaust.

@coolboymew @ChristiJunior @TrueMasterCole holy shit they are expensive. i don't think i'll ever need one, i only got sd cards for my switch for modding purposes lol. give it a bit though, once you actually need one they will have gone down in price a bit.
