My modus operandi regarding what we do here and how we protect ourselves is a tactic as old as time: Out of sight, out of mind.
Loli and shota content thrived most when it was least present in the minds of the public. People posting this content on social media either directly or through meme culture showed a naivety and ignorance that has brought unwanted attention and therefore made targets of all of us.
People are lazy, they don't care about stuff that's not right in front of them.
@MagnumImpulse you also have to remember that normies flooded the internet once smartphones became commonplace. Everyone on the internet already knew about loli but didn't really care, everyone who came to the internet experienced and continue to experience culture shock.
@beardalaxy Smart phones are the best and worst thing to ever happen to the internet, even more so than social media.
It made things more accessible, but it caused everything to become diluted to make it more accessible and normies became more demanding when exposed to things they objected to.
It's part of the reason social media, tumblr, reddit, everything started falling apart and reformed into lesser, streamlined, mainstream friendly corporate blobs.
@lina @MagnumImpulse well that just goes to show how bad it truly has become
