To anyone with experience with Debian: How often are packages updated on that Distro? I don't want to use it, only to find out that update philosophy prevents programs or scripts I use to not be updated for weeks, months, or even years.

I want to be sure about certain things before I switch out of Kubuntu.

I have considered a rolling release distro for my desktop, but I'm not sure about Arch.
