What the heck did they stop teaching home economics? I learned how to bake, sew, and balance my checkbook before I even got to high school. I'm not even that old.

@mitchconner we were required to take sewing and cooking in 7th grade here. however they were each only a quarter long, and the classes were only 45 minutes (30 on short days), so in total you got like 35 hours of each and that's it. plus in such short periods it seemed hard to keep track of on top of everything else.

we were required to take financial literacy in high school but we pretty much just learned a tiny bit about credit, did some stock market simulator, and watched shark tank while girls who had graduated brought in the teacher food every day.
