@Xeraser @beardalaxy @Will2Power Here's the thing: mothers can become extremely anxious if they see you aren't taking off in life. That might have triggered her obsession. She kinda looking for a fake do-over, since she feels she messed up with you (Not faulting, you, BTW, our world is messed up).

Getting anxious for dolls, and then guilting over them is an hint.

If she were to see you taking good steps in life (Getting a girlfriend, or a decent enough job), she might calm down enough to think she didn't fail too bad, and stop with the dolls.

Absofuckinglutely not, blood ties mean absolutely fucking nothing to me when I cant recognize even the slightest bit of myself in the mental asylum patient who tried and failed to raise me because she never mentally matured past the age of 10. I've hated my mother's side of the family for decades and that will never change.

@Xeraser @beardalaxy @Will2Power You can just put down clear limits (Like stopping with the doll thing), but remind her that you're still there.

You can be on good terms without having to tolerate anything. Easier if you're in your own place, but you can still make it work.

She may be a womanchild, but not totally oblivious. You can literally ask her from where the doll thing is from. Ask her if she doesn't like you as a son. Harsh, but needed in this case.
