The deeper forces dictating the direction of the current West are diametrically opposed to the same forces that dictate Japanese culture or especially Anime culture. And I'm not even referring to traditional Christian values and frameworks here because they're not even necessary in order to create this clash of opposed paradigms. Really the Christian angle is virtually completely absent in this conflict, and what we see is a cultural force that is obsessed with destroying culture, meeting a cultural force that is obsessed with animating, breathing life into everything, making it beautiful, and with an inherently positive outlook for the future, even when it comes to apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic scenarios. You could almost say we have on one side a Culture of Death (chaos, derision, deconstruction, defilement) and on the other side a Culture of Healing or Purification (where that which heals and that which is pure are held in admiration). All this could have been avoided, perhaps, if the works of the latter culture would not have been so globally popular, but they are.
