goin to the gym tomorrow to start my journey to swoledom, haven't been there since like 2011.

any tips?

@beardalaxy Have a plan on what you are doing when you go. Don't just go to use random stuff. Also a gym partner is always nice to have.

@NotImportant got the second one down already, wouldn't be going otherwise!

i'm gonna have to watch a tutorial on youtube or something lol, and partially hope that my friend knows what he's doing more than i do. he's been far more recently than i have. right now, i only have the basic idea that i want to do half the time lifting and half the time on the recumbent bike. just not sure quite yet what exactly the lifting will entail.

@beardalaxy I can drop my lifts and workouts when I first started lifting back in the day. Doing them consistently and taking creatine and protein got me pretty fit quickly.
@beardalaxy I'll grab them in the morning. Phone is being weird about them seeing as I transferred them from my old phone.
@beardalaxy consistency is more important than anything else. Better to have four decent sessions every week and solidify the routine than a handful of really good ones without a good regiment. Try to increase something as often as possible doesn't matter what it is, sets, reps, intensity, speed etc. Even tiny advancements have a powerful moralizing effect. When I started out seriously I did Smolov jr. Six days a week constantly increasing weight, harder than a lot of regiments but easier to stick to because you see consistent growth. As an aside I like morning lifts before work let's me walk into work energized but that's just me.

@kvit the only time i can do it is before work since i work nights haha. unfortunately i can only do 3 days a week but that's probably more of a blessing so that i don't push myself too hard. that's going to be by far the hardest thing for me, realizing that while i feel good i'm nowhere near as athletic as i used to be before i started having seizures. i always try to go harder than i can and that ends up with me needing to stop early. so i really got pace myself and yeah, just slowly increase weight/reps.
