@DrRyanSkelton One of the journo headlines I saw for this said that unironically and with excitement lol
@DrRyanSkelton I'm gonna let Dragon Knight 07 cook before I declare it a gay and shit game but I'm not gonna get my hopes up.

@LittleTom @DrRyanSkelton I was super concerned about the game from the moment I saw it. It doesn't take place in silent hill and it's continuing the bullshit "silent hill is everywhere" thing especially considering that the game takes place 20-30 years before the original. It looks more like a forbidden siren or Fatal Frame that's just borrowing the silent hill name for marketing purposes.

Then the gameplay video came out and it's just got shitty soulslike combat with bonfire analogs. But it has puzzles, so THAT makes it a silent hill game, and it has weapon degradation so THAT makes it survival horror. It doesn't even have guns.

It might be a decent game I guess, but it has less silent hill DNA than a public park toilet.

@beardalaxy @DrRyanSkelton at this point there's been significantly more Silent Hill games that I would call bad than good so I'm not all that bothered if they slap the brand and some trappings onto a basically unrelated game IF that game ends up being fun and cool.
But whether it will actually be good awaits to be seen. I probably would not be very interested if Ryukishi were not involved.

@LittleTom @DrRyanSkelton yeah maybe I'm just an old man yelling at a cloud... I just thought I was done seeing silent hill get fucked up the ass only for this recent wave to keep doing it. I would legitimately rather have something like homecoming or downpour than the short message or silent hill f, let alone whatever the fuck that web series was. Silent Hill 2 Remake is decent, but it doesn't hold a candle to the original. I'm a lot more excited for their SH1 remake because at least that game is way more simple and has a lot more room to expand.
