@verita84 yeah, but they'll probably still have to deal with it whenever they try to renew their visa
@verita84 probably just means it isn't retroactive. Like if you've got a visa already yeah, you won't have to pay this time, but if you renew you still have to deal with it.

@deesenaughts @verita84 yeah that's what it seems like to me, you need to get it renewed for 100k when it expires but not this instant
@beardalaxy @verita84 yeah I don't know how you could see it as pajeets in the country being totally immune to the new rule. There's issues with it, like the way the rule itself requires renewal every year, but this isn't one of them. Yes, it would be based and funny af to retroactively force them them pay 100k to stay in the country, but it just isn't realistic.
