Saw Tron Ares again! It's so good guys, especially if you've seen the other Tron movies and enjoyed them you gotta go watch it.
@RehnyNytes256 and they are still unparalleled, but that doesn't mean ares is bad, it's just that legacy is my favorite movie of all time lol
@KaiserKitty from what i can tell, the more you like the other tron films, the more you'll like ares. i'm a huge fan of the other two with them being in my top 5 movies of all time. i love ares.
my brother and cousin were pretty meh about it, but they're meh about the other tron films too. the friend i saw it with today liked legacy but has never seen the original, and he thought it was pretty good. my dad and uncle like both the other films and they thought ares was really good.
@azure he does a great job in it and he's the only reason the movie got made in the first place really
@azure the "raping kids" thing is completely unsubstantiated hyperbole and it's just a group of 9 chicks that metoo'd him a few months ago saying he was doing weird shit to them over a decade ago. he's denied the claims. knowing how the metoo "believe all women" shit i'm not sure how much of that i actually believe.
as far as the "cult island" thing goes, it's a themed retreat focused on the band's releases and they started joking about it being a cult because of media overreaction. to me it seems more like a mix between an actual, legitimate retreat and an immersive/interactive entertainment piece like sleep no more or a fantasy theme park. that's not the exact way to put it but it seems up that alley, at least.
i'm not running defense for him or anything, i'm sure he's done fuckin weird rock star shit and there was all the uncouth method acting he did for joker... i don't think he's a great guy by any means and nobody should aspire to be him. the movie was fantastic though. it's a shame you hate him so much you wouldn't be able to enjoy it because the entire rest of the production is awesome too.
@azure that's fair enough! i'll usually tell people to just pirate something if i'm recommending it and they don't want to pay for it haha.
reminds me of the first time i heard of mice and men. it was live, and the lead singer told everyone to pirate their new album. i ended up doing that and then bought it as soon as i could lol. it was The Flood. fantastic album if you like metalcore.
@freeusspeechus yeah the marketing was weird. i'm glad i went to see it though. definitely worth it! up there with the other tron movies for sure.
@beardalaxy@gameliberty.club You saw it twice?
i thought it would be hard to beat Legacy's soundtrack and lead actress
