@RehnyNytes256 @peepeepoopoocahcah1 @Jens_Rasmussen i'm stoked for skyblivion. never played normal oblivion before but it looks like it is an improvement across the board.

@beardalaxy@gameliberty.club @peepeepoopoocahcah1@poa.st @Jens_Rasmussen@poa.st definitely! I loved that they aim to remake all the dungeons to have actual designs and storytelling. Instead of the bland copy pasted rooms of the original. :ablobcatbongo:

@beardalaxy @RehnyNytes256 @peepeepoopoocahcah1 @Jens_Rasmussen you people need better taste in games.

or just install Enderal (it's a standalone mod on steam that requires you to own skyrim and/or skyrim special edition)

@lichelordgodfrey @Jens_Rasmussen @peepeepoopoocahcah1 @RehnyNytes256 enderal seemed kind of interesting, i vaguely remember watching a video about it a little after it came out and for some reason i didn't want to play it after that.

also i have been told that many, many times. you're talking to the guy who has DmC Devil May Cry in his top 5 :meru_lul:

i have no idea if i'll like skyblivion or not, because it isn't out yet. if anything, it'll be interesting to try.

@beardalaxy @Jens_Rasmussen @peepeepoopoocahcah1 @RehnyNytes256 it will feel off because they are running a game engine that will require them to hack in stats, or go without, unlike oblivion or morrowind.

it'll have the same mediocre quests, an OK main story, a pretty cool expansion (shivering isles), and effectively very little will tie in to the main quest despite its overwhelming importance even compared to the Blight in Morrowind.

it will be a single player MMORPG theme park ride over and over. again.

but this time with . . . better graphics and flashier (but not mechanically better) combat.
@beardalaxy @Jens_Rasmussen @peepeepoopoocahcah1 @RehnyNytes256 and this comes from a guy who used to play a LOT of oblivion back in the day, but when I think about it I did the main quests of the game, the expansion, the guild stuff.. and fucked around a lot with mods of different types.

Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul, FCOM (francesco's something or other I don't remember, combat overhaul mod?) etc etc more than I played the normal game or even the quests in the original game.

@lichelordgodfrey @Jens_Rasmussen @peepeepoopoocahcah1 @RehnyNytes256 from what i can ascertain from watching all of the dev logs, it seems like they are doing a pretty substantial amount of changing core systems. at the very least, it's going to be so much better of an experience than oblivion remastered.

since it is running as a skyrim mod, it's also going to be very easy to mod. a lot of mods will probably just work with it by default. so i'm not too worried about any of skyrim's mechanical shortcomings.

for me, it's either wait for skyblivion or play oblivion by itself, so that i can actually try out the game finally. i think skyblivion is going to be a vastly better experience. whether that is an actually good experience or not has yet to be determined, but hey no harm in trying a free mod (i got oblivion for free years ago too so i'm not even paying for that).
