These "people" would gladly put a 300 foot statue of George Floyd on top of the white house and pass laws to imprison anyone who calls it gay and retarded and yet im supposed to believe they give a shit about national monuments

@dickflatteningenthusiast as i have just learned, the president does not need any permission from congress to do this. he can just do it. the only reason why he'd need that is if it were publicly funded. since it is privately funded, it's fair game.

also, it's fucking hilarious to complain about it being privately funded, especially if they don't want it there in the first place. "how dare they put something i don't want in the white house without using my money to do it!"

@beardalaxy @dickflatteningenthusiast Why does he want to demolish the east wing facade? Is there something wrong with it?
Plus a general rework of the east wing facilities.
He's not angry about it being done without his money, he's angry about Trump having some kind of physical legacy period. If Obama did it he'd love it.

His complaint about private vs. public funding is likely just a question of control: If it were publicly funded there'd be all kinds of procedural tasks that could be used to keep it from ever happening, then the next president just quietly cancels it and everyone can go back to pretending Trump never existed.
